Mr Kucukmetin is a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist and Clinical Lead & IGCS International Mentor. Mr Ali Kucukmetin trained as a Gynaecologist in the Wessex deanery in 2004, before moving to Newcastle to complete a higher degree (MD) in ovarian cancer research at Newcastle University.
He qualified as a specialist Gynaecological Oncologist and he was appointed as laparoscopic-lead Consultant in the reputable Northern Gynaecological Oncology Centre, Gateshead in 2010. Mr Kucukmetin has become an internationally renowned expert in his field, following his pioneering laparoscopic operations for the management of gynaecological cancers. He performed the first Total Laparoscopic Radical Trachelectomy procedure in the UK in May 2011. Ali is active in research, leading to good quality publications.

Prof Felix Chan graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1986 with a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery. After gaining experience in general medicine, surgery, emergency medicine and paediatrics he developed an interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He received the Gold Medal for MRANZCOG examination in 1990 and was admitted to the Westmead Hospital Integrated Training Program. He was inspired by Prof Alex Crandon and Prof Roger Houghton (professors in gynaecological oncology) and became the first fellow in gynaecological oncology at the hospital. He has a keen interest in developing and applying surgery in this exciting field of medicine. In 1996 he spent his fellowship at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Perth, where he developed a keen interest in defining the role of laparoscopic surgery in gynaecological oncology. He had the opportunity to work with Prof Anthony J McCartney, Prof Ian Hammond, and Prof Yee Leung, and in 1997 he had the pleasure to work with Prof J Shepherd in St Bartholomew\'s Hospital, Royal Marsden and Royal London Hospitals in the UK. He gained proficiency and expertise in gynaecological surgery after attending a master class with D Queuleu, D D’argent (France) and Prof John Monaghan (UK). Having been on the specialist register since 2008, he has gained significant experience within his field. Ian Scudamore has been a Consultant for over 25 years and has clinical interests in reproductive medicine, minimal access surgery, and fetal and maternal medicine, providing each as a clinical subspecialty interest, as well as having a general O&G commitment.

He was instrumental in development of sub-specialty training in fetal and maternal medicine in Leicester and is active training in fetal and maternal medicine and minimal access surgery.

From 2013 until 2022, Ian was Clinical Director for Women’s and Children’s Services at University Hospitals of Leicester. His responsibilities included unification of services across two sites, operational, governance and medical workforce issues, implementation of national programmes to improve care, and lobbying for development of services of national importance.

Jim Khan is a specialist colorectal surgeon with a comprehensive training in general, colorectal, laparoscopic & robotic surgery. He treats a wide range of disorders affecting the small intestine, colon and rectum. These include laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and benign conditions including ulcerative colitis, crohn’s disease and diverticular disease, Haemorrhoid surgery, endoscopy including diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, gall bladder surgery, hernia surgery and proctology.

Lyndon Gommersall graduated from Nottingham University Medical School in 1997 and completed his medical doctorate (MD) in prostate cancer in 2006 at the University of Birmingham. He completed his specialist urological training throughout the West Midlands as well as visiting the Berne University Hospital in Switzerland to develop his primary interest in bladder cancer surgery.

He was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in early 2010 at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. He is interested in rapid recovery following all aspects of urological surgery. His key interests are in bladder cancer, prostate cancer, bladder and prostate problems , incontinence and andrology including erectile dysfunction. Mr Stanciu is a specialist gynaecological surgeon with a broad international experience gained in some of the best hospitals across Europe.

Mr Stanciu completed his training and was granted CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014 from the University of Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. He has subsequently worked and trained in hospitals in Romania, Germany, Ireland and the UK. Mr Stanciu has a PhD in Gynaecological Oncology and is an ESGO accredited sub-specialist Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon.

He is the first Robotic Surgeon with dual accreditation on both Versius and da Vinci systems by the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery (SERGS). Mr Stanciu holds the International Ovarian Tumour Analysis (IOTA) Certificate in Ultrasonography for pelvic masses. His interests range from diagnosis to treatment of complex ovarian masses.

At West Herts, Mr Stanciu is performing some of the most advanced robotic surgeries. As a result our hospital has become a national referral centre for Versius Robotic Surgery.

Mr Stanciu is a Preceptor for CMR Surgical and is often invited at national and international conferences to share his expertise. Apart from gynaecological cancers he also treats deep infiltrative endometriosis (DIE) and complex gynaecological problems.

As a cancer surgeon, Mr Stanciu is a member of the Gynaecological Multidisciplinary Team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. He performs over 150 major cancer surgeries per year.

Miss Roopa Nair is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 27 years of clinical experience, currently practising at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. She has held a substantive consultant post since November 2011 and is the Clinical Director for Women’s Health Services. She also leads the Urogynaecology service at the Queen’s nationally accredited urogynaecology centre and is the lead for Robotic Gynaecology at BHR. Miss Nair holds multiple academic and professional qualifications, including FRCOG, MD, DNB, DFFP,and an MCh in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, awarded with Distinction from Anglia Ruskin University. In 2004, she was awarded the MRCOG Gold Medal by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for attaining the highest national score in the examination. She is currently undertaking an Executive Masters in Medical Leadership from City-St.George’s university, London. Her specialist interests lie in Urogynaecology, minimally invasive and robotic surgery. She offers a comprehensive range of treatments for urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and pelvic organ prolapse, including non-mesh surgical techniques, urethral bulking injections, intravesical Botox therapy, and complex vaginal repairs. She has expertise in the management of recurrent prolapse and perineal birth injuries. Miss Nair is a trained and certified robotic surgeon, with experience in performing advanced procedures using the da Vinci Xi.

Sharmila Gupta Sharmila Gupta Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon Colchester Hospital

Dr Sharmila Gupta is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Colchester Hospital, part of the East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. She also serves as the Lead Surgeon for Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Clinical Lead for General Surgery at the Colchester IBD Centre. Simon Butler-Manuel is a senior Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon. He is acknowledged as one of the country’s leading minimal access gynaecological surgeons and a pioneer of robotic surgery in the UK and Europe. He has been a Consultant based in Guildford for over 20 years.

Simon helped to introduce the first da Vinci robot to the Royal Surrey in 2009 through the work of the charity GRACE, which he founded in 2005. Guildford has been recognised as an Epicentre for gynaecological robotic surgical training since 2013. Simon lectures widely and has taught many of the leading gynaecological robotic surgeons in Britain, Europe and Asia. Simon is the current Vice-President (President-elect) of BIARGS, the British and Irish Association of `robotic Gynaecological Surgeons, of which he was a founder member. Simon has been very involved in post-graduate education and surgical training through his involvement with BIARGS, the RCOG and BGCS.

As an expert in the medical and surgical treatment of complex endometriosis, Dr Gupta is committed to helping women feel seen and heard in their treatment journey for chronic gynaecological issues. She has more than 15 years of experience in gynaecology, commonly performing hysterectomies and myomectomies to treat a broad range of women’s health problems. She is also a robotic surgeon and uses robotic surgery to perform more complex procedures, such as hysterectomies for women with severe endometriosis.
Patients come to Dr Gupta for a variety of symptoms, including heavy and painful periods, pelvic pain, and concerns about fertility and menopause. She treats women both younger and older and focuses on improving her patients\' quality of life by finding them the best possible support and treatment options.

Dr Gupta has developed national endometriosis services and teaches robotic and keyhole surgery to other consultant gynaecologists. She is recognised by The British Menopause Society for her commitment to women’s health, and has been a member of The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2004.

Dr. Suruchi Pandey serves as a Consultant Gynaecologist at Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon, with her NHS base at St. George\'s University Hospital in London, where she has held the Consultant position since 2016.

Dr. Pandey specialises in advanced minimal access surgery, encompassing both laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques, benign gynaecological conditions, pelvic pain and endometriosis, advanced gynaecological ultrasound, and medical education. Uzma Mahmood Uzma Mahmood Professor of Gynaecology Surgeon Limerick University Hospital

Prof. Uzma Mahmood is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at UL Hospitals Group, where she offers comprehensive obstetric care and a wide range of benign gynaecological services, including treatment for abnormal menstrual bleeding, PCOs, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and prolapse. She also sees private patients at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick. Her expertise lies in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery which results in less pain, quicker recovery, and shorter hospital stays. Additionally, Dr Mahmood is a certified colposcopist and a specialist in robotic gynaecological surgery.

Dr Mahmood graduated from Punjab University in Pakistan and holds membership in the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (2008), fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (2023). She earned her MD from University College Cork in 2012, focusing her research on foetal microchimerism and maternal wound healing. Having completed her specialist training through the Irish training scheme, Dr Mahmood gained extensive experience at several hospitals, including the Rotunda, Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital, and Cork University Maternity Hospital. Vidya Kasipandian Vidya Kasipandian Consultant Anaesthetist The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Vidya Kasipandian graduated from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India in 2000. She underwent higher specialist training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in the North West Deanery, UK, and received her Dual Accreditation (Dual CCT) in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine in 2011. She joined The Christie as a substantive Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia in May 2011 and was the Clinical Lead in Critical Care between 2012 to 2019. In this role, she was responsible for introducing Level 3 care in the Critical Care Unit and contributed to multi-disciplinary collaborative working by establishing weekly MDTs. Dr Kasipandian held the post of the Clinical Director for Critical Care and Inpatient Services between 2019 and 2022. She was appointed Associate Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety in April 2022. She has successfully lead projects on phase 2 implementation of electronic inpatient noting, new Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) build and mortality mapping process. Dr Kasipandian continues her roles as a Clinical and Educational Supervisor, instructing in Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses since 2011 and having established the National Tracheostomy Safety Project (NTSP) at The Christie site. She is a Principal Investigator for national trials in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and COVID.

Zeiad El-Gizawy Zeiad El-Gizawy Consultant Gynaecologist Royal Stoke University Hospital

Mr. Zeiad El-Gizawy is a Consultant Gynaecologist who provides a wide range of services for women with gynaecological disorders, offering comprehensive consultations and assessments. He collaborates closely with his patients to develop holistic treatment plans. His special interests include managing pelvic pain and endometriosis, and he has extensive training and expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. Additionally, Mr. El-Gizawy is skilled in infertility treatments and reproductive medicine.

Mr. El-Gizawy began his medical career with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery and completed his specialty training in the West Midlands Deanery. He furthered his expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery with a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy from Surrey University. He also trained in Robotic Surgery through courses in Strasbourg and Paris. An advocate for medical education, he holds a Diploma in Medical Education from Keele University and conducts teaching sessions for GPs. His contributions to the field include numerous publications in accredited journals and research papers.
